Enjoy homemade hot and cold snacks, lunches, puddings and drinks from our cafe

Our Social Health Café provides high quality inexpensive meals and snacks that are cooked by Robert, our chef in a 5* hygiene rated kitchen. It is at the heart of the building and EVERYBODY is most welcome to enjoy our high quality and Covid secure facilities. We are also fortunate to have an outside seating area. 

Our cafe is open from 10am-4pm every weekday with hot meal service 11am-2pm.

We also offer a Takeaway Service just phone 01227 767660 to order.

Our weekly Food Pantry is available every Wednesday from 10am – 2pm. We have 10 packs available each week and only cost £2 for members, £4 for non-members.

Well behaved dogs are welcome.

Hot lunches cost just £5.50 to non members and £4.50 to members.

Robert has been a chef for 45 years and has held high-level positions in London, both as Head Chef of a Clinic and within Harley Street. He has cooked meals for Princes, Lords, Marquesses as well as many celebrities. As he says:

“For the last 11 years, I have had both the pleasure and honour of working as Chef at Canterbury Umbrella. It has been a true inspiration to work with such a happy, dedicated, friendly and hardworking staff whom I now consider as friends, whilst endeavouring to support our members whenever possible. My role at Canterbury Umbrella involves much more than cooking although this is my major passion. I feel humbled and proud to support our members during periods of crisis or difficulty and believe that by providing high standard meals using top quality ingredients we are helping them towards recovery.

I am always grateful to our generous and philanthropic suppliers who provide highest quality ingredients and who like me, are keen to gently offer more healthy options to members and friends in order for them to be able to live a healthier and happier life.
