Important notice….On April 9th at 11am a meeting for all members will be held at the centre to discuss the future of the Umbrella Centre. Please try and attend as some important changes are being made.
The sun is beginning to show and finally some warm weather. Please drop into the centre and pick up an activity planner, lots of fun things going on.
The last Thursday of every month see`s our music group which is always great fun.
A big thankyou to `Finally Design Agency` for their generous donation of £2000 by wavering their fees to BID. Thank you so much.
Our new kitchen is now finished and looking great. All ground work is also complete so the centre is open as normal.
We have been supporting people from our purpose built premises since 1989 and we believe that we are an integral and important part of the Canterbury Community.
Our members are at the centre of our service. They are actively involved in the management of Canterbury Umbrella and are encouraged to develop and work towards their own personal recovery with support from staff, volunteers and other members.
Anyone can become a member of Canterbury Umbrella and membership is £12 for 1 year. There are many benefits of becoming a member such as reduced cost for buying food and drink.
You will always receive a warm welcome at Canterbury Umbrella. We never turn anybody away.
We run many regular classes and groups that provide support and stimulation in a planned and responsive way. These have continued virtually throughout the Covid period and have proven to be of huge benefit to many of our members.
You don’t have to be a member to visit us at Canterbury Umbrella. Why not just come and see what’s going on? You can always become a member later.

Our Social Health café provides high quality inexpensive meals and snacks that are cooked by our experienced chef in a 5* hygiene rated kitchen. It is at the heart of the building and EVERYBODY is most welcome.
